Most issues solve themselves in 30 seconds. Here's what we hear most often.
Phosphor does not run on Intel Macs. We get this question often — sorry. The Metal 3 features we use aren't backported and the Core Audio Process Tap is Apple Silicon only.
Quit and relaunch Phosphor once. macOS sometimes drops the audio tap when an app starts before any audio is playing. If it still happens, open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Audio Recording and confirm Phosphor is allowed.
Known issue with some Bluetooth audio devices. The Core Audio graph briefly disconnects between tracks. Wired or AirPlay 2 audio does not show this.
Open Phosphor preferences and lower the frame rate cap from 120 fps to 60 fps. Also turn off Bloom and RGB Split — they are the most expensive post-effects.
macOS does not let third-party apps persistently set wallpapers across reboots. Phosphor reapplies on launch — set it to launch at login (System Settings → General → Login Items) and you will not notice.
Drag Phosphor.app to the Trash. Preferences live in ~/Library/Preferences/com.littleknifelabs.phosphor.plist if you want a clean wipe. Wallpapers are restored automatically.
Sign in with the same Apple ID and download from the Mac App Store — no re-purchase needed. Family Sharing also works.
Apple handles all App Store refunds. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find Phosphor, and request a refund. Most requests within 14 days are granted automatically.
