Phosphor / Record visualizer videos

Capture the moment. Share the loop.

Press ⌘ R, pick a length, and Phosphor records its visuals plus the audio that drove them — straight to MP4. Drop the file into Instagram, TikTok, or your DAW.

Recording

One file. Everything synced.

01

1080p or 4K

Choose 1080p60 or 4K30. Either way the encoder is hardware-accelerated VideoToolbox — no fan, no waiting.

02

Audio + video, in lock-step

Phosphor records the same PCM samples it visualizes, muxed into the file at the matching frame. No drift.

→ sample-exact
03

Square + vertical exports

1:1 for Instagram, 9:16 for Reels and TikTok, 16:9 for YouTube. Phosphor re-renders at the target ratio — not a center crop.

→ 1:1 · 9:16 · 16:9
04

Loop-friendly

Pick "seamless loop" and Phosphor will quantize start/end to the nearest beat so the video loops cleanly on social.

→ beat aligned
05

No watermark

Ever. The visuals you record are yours.

→ clean export
06

ProRes for editors

Optional ProRes 422 LT export for Final Cut and Resolve users who don't want to re-encode.

→ prores 422 lt
Permissions

What recording does and doesn't need.

Recording the visuals uses the same Metal canvas Phosphor already renders — no screen-recording permission needed. Recording the audio it visualizes reuses the audio tap permission you granted at install. That's it.
